Instructions
 

  • Note: your goal is to load up the UpCooked calendar with not just IDEAS for posts but the actual content created and ready to go. Then we simply load that into Buffer. But we want our own calendar record to see easily how many weeks ahead we are loaded up and how many more we need to get ahead!
  • Get pen and paper to 'think' on. Do not do this in your head.
  • Reminder! The process you'll follow is:
    1. Get an idea for a SM post
    2. Create the content of the post with hashtags
    3. Load a note into the UpCooked calendar.
    4. Schedule to post it on Buffer (or just post it)
  • Generate an idea for a piece of content and write it down so you know what you're doing. Use the list below to help, aim for a mix (they don't want the same thing constantly) but also aim for a video a week, and a couple of recipes per week. Ultimately we want at least one post per day = 7 posts per week! So stack them up.
    • What video could you create?
    • What exceptional photos could you take or have you taken?
    • What recipes have we not posted that people would like?
    • Do we think our audience would like to see someone else's recipe? Who's content can we share?
    • Got any ideas for a theme we can follow for a few posts in a row, e.g. 'Mexican Week'?
    • Can we ask our followers a question or ask them to complete a poll?
    • Can we share a cooking tip?
    • What are other favourite food bloggers doing?
    • Is there a product we could review or link to or sell?
    • Should Dad write an article that's useful?
    • Is there a 'how-to' we should share or create?
    • What ideas does ChatGPT have?
    • Is there a new challenge we can set people? Or a contest?
    • Any success stories to share?
    • A review of a favourite cookbook?
    • A fun video of Dad teaching Ellie how to cook? (Ellie wouldn't have to say much)
  • Confirm what you'll do with Dad, and why. Also when you intend to send it out. (Check the UpCooked calendar).
  • Create the content
  • Send it to Dad to approve
  • Add hashtags to it for each channel. Try to pick the BEST hashtags that would most likely get us found. We need to find the 'niche' ones. Talk to Dad about this! We won't get found for just using the obvious ones.
    Optimal Number of Hashtags Per Platform:
    Facebook: 1-2 hashtags
    X (Twitter): 1-2 hashtags
    Instagram: 3-5 hashtags (up to 30 allowed)
    Pinterest: 2-6 hashtags
    TikTok: 3-5 hashtags
    YouTube: 1-3 hashtags
  • Has Dad approved it or does it need changing?
  • Open your SM Upcooked calendar and propse to Dad when you should send it out
  • Load it into Buffer and schedule
  • Get Dad to check
