Spaghetti alla Puttanesca with Smoky Sun-Dried Tomato Twist
This punchy, salty, savoury spaghetti dish is loaded with bold Mediterranean flavours and made even better with a touch of smoky sun-dried tomatoes. It’s a quick weeknight win for anyone with a taste for drama.

- Large frying pan

Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 400 g dried spaghetti
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 6 anchovy fillets in oil
- 4 garlic cloves finely sliced
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 100 g black olives pitted and halved
- 2 tbsp capers rinsed
- 400 g tinned chopped tomatoes
- 50 g sun-dried tomatoes in oil finely chopped
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- fresh flat-leaf parsley chopped
- parmesan cheese to taste
Instructions
Let’s Cook!
- Fill a large saucepan with water
- Add a good pinch of salt to the water
- Bring the water to a rolling boil
- Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente
- Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat
- Add anchovy fillets and stir until they melt into the oil
- Add garlic and stir for 30 seconds
- Add chilli flakes, sun-dried tomatoes, and smoked paprika
- Stir in chopped tomatoes, olives and capers
- Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes
- Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water
- Toss spaghetti with the sauce and loosen with pasta water if needed
- Season with salt and pepper
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and parmesan and serve immediately
