Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli with Bell Peppers and Cashews
This is pretty quick to make and really healthy! Crispy, rich, nutty, colourful and will go down well with the family!

Equipment
- Large wok or frying pan
- Saucepan for rice with lid
- Spoon or spatula
- Cutting board
- chefs knife
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Bowl for marinating beef
Ingredients
- 400 g Beef sirloin
- 1 cup Rice (Jasmine or other long grain is ideal, but any will do)
- 300 g Broccoli florets
- 1 Red bell pepper
- 1 Yellow bell pepper
- 100g Roasted cashews
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 60 ml Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce (this is for marinating the beef)
- 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Fresh ginger
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 tbsp Cornflour
- 120 ml Water
- 2 Spring onions
Instructions
Prep in Advance:
- Wash your hands
- Gather all necessary utensils and ingredients
- Wash the broccoli, peppers and spring onions and put aside to drain
- Thinly slice the 400 g Beef sirloin so that you can stir fry it later
- Marinate the 400 g Beef sirloin by putting it in a bowl and mixing it with 1 tbsp Soy sauce and 1 tbsp Cornflour
- Set it aside for 15 minutes
- Get the 1 cup Rice on (follow our how-to here
) - Mince the 2 cloves Garlic
- Mince the 1 tbsp Fresh ginger
- Slice 1 Red bell pepper
- Slice 1 Yellow bell pepper
- Chop the 2 Spring onions
Let's Cook!
- Grab the wok!
- Heat the 2 tbsp Vegetable oil in the wok over high heat
- Add the marinated beef to the hot wok
- Stir-fry the beef until it turns brown. Keep it moving around the pan for about 2-3 minutes
- Remove the beef and set aside
- In the same wok, add a bit more oil if needed
- Add the minced 1 tbsp Fresh ginger and minced 2 cloves Garlic
- Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the 300 g Broccoli florets
- Stir-fry the broccoli for about 2 minutes.
- Add the sliced bell peppers
- Continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes
- Return the beef to the wok
- Add the 60 ml Soy sauce
- Add 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
- Add 120 ml Water
- Mix well and cook for another 3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens
- Drizzle with 1 tsp Sesame oil
- Add 100g Roasted cashews and mix well
- Remove from heat and sprinkle 2 Spring onions (chopped) on top to serve
